RCMDO(Rwanda Christian Medical and Dental Organization) is a member of ICMDA(International Christian Medical and Dental Association) which is an international organization that unites associations of Christian doctors globally. It is divided in different regions worldwide and Rwanda is a member of ICMDA/East Africa region.
In this year 2019, Rwanda was privileged to host ICMDA/East conference for junior doctors and medical students with the theme “wholesome healing”.
Over 156 participants attended, including the CEO of ICMDA globally, the chairperson of ICMDA/East Africa council, Secretary of ICMDA/East Africa, representative of junior doctors and Students Fellowship in Sub-Saharan Africa, the regional representative of ICMDA Junior doctors and Students Fellowship-East Africa, Members of Rwanda Christian Medical and Dental Organization (RCMDO) and other delegates from 11 countries. Those countries include 8 member countries of ICMDA/East Africa (Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan and DRC) plus India, South Africa and New Zealand.
The main activities of the conference included teaching sessions led by different speakers who are Christian professionals, praise and worship, Evening cultural and social events, Easter celebration devotion, Kigali City tour and Visiting Kigali Genocide memorial.
